
Charles Cardinal
Charles Cardinal practices media, entertainment, intellectual property, and business litigation. He represents plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal courts. Mr. Cardinal was selected by his peers as a Southern California Super Lawyer Rising Star in 2025. He received his J.D. from UCLA School of Law, where he was a member of the Moot Court Honors Program and served as board member of the Entertainment Law Association. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Alabama Honors College with a degree in Political Science.
Mr. Cardinal’s notable cases include a three-month RICO trial in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California representing the defendant motorcycle club and successfully defeating the United States government’s attempted seizure of the group’s trademarked logo on Constitutional grounds, arguing and winning an appeal in the California Second District Court of Appeal for a singer-songwriter client to keep a restraining order against her ex-husband in place, and reaching a favorable settlement for a production company in a breach of contract case against filmmaker Martin Scorsese.
Mr. Cardinal is a member of the Southern California Associate Board for Young Professionals of Covenant House California, a non-profit organization that serves homeless youth in California.
